For those who aren't familiar with it, Green Energy Times is a 40-page bimonthly newspaper distributed across four New England states.
Packed with informative articles, its focus is renewable clean energy and overcoming the harm caused by climate change.
Starting in April 2021, Islesboro Energy Team began working with other energy, environmental, sustainability and advocacy groups on a Maine-wide distribution project that has brought Green Energy Times (GET) to Maine.
The venture grew to become the GET Maine Team, a group of volunteer coordinators, distributors and advisors who coordinate and plan the project as a community service to all Mainers.
The Maine Team began with a pilot distribution of 500 copies and now distributes 4,000 -- 1,000 copies in southern Maine, and 3,000 along the central midcoast corridor.
Another midcoast section was recently added in the Thomaston to Owls Head area.
Now in its 14th year, GET originated in Vermont, then spread to New Hampshire and New York, and then to Maine, adding up to 35,000 copies distributed across the four states.
